Players in the Global PPE Supply Chain can Expect Change

In the coming months, the U.S. government will determine whether the country is leaning too heavily on foreign suppliers, and if so, what to do about it. In the meantime, PharmaCorr will continue to monitor and nurture relationships with PPE supply chain partners to confirm continued availability for your law enforcement team and to help you manage your budget in a fluid market.

A White House official responding to the President's February 24, 2021 Executive Order on America's Supply Chains said that according to the EO, one of President Biden's goals is to "get out of the business of reacting to supply chain crises as they arise and get into the business of preventing future supply chain problems." The 100-day review is evaluating chains across four primary industries, including targeting specific products, and separate one-year reviews of certain other sectors.

"We will be watching closely for changes or long-term implications that could impact law enforcement's PPE availability. Our recommendations are to plan and source a PPE reserve supply cadence quarterly. Reliability, availability, and transparency are what set us apart," said PharmaCorr Chief Commercial Officer, Jared Romine.

Affected Industries and Products

The EO references supply chains impacting prioritized key industries including:

  • masks, gloves, gowns and other PPE (further to a prior EO 14001)
  • pharmaceuticals their active ingredients
  • semiconductors and advanced packaging
  • large-capacity batteries
  • critical minerals
